N.S. P.U. 20. Proclamation: Removal of the Undang of Luak Sungai Ujong
WHEREAS Article 16(1), First Part, of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959 provides that there shall be a Dewan Keadilan dan Undang, named in English “The Council of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Ruling Chiefs”, hereinafter referred to as the Dewan. The Dewan advises on questions relating to Malay custom in any place in the State. This includes questions relating to the election or succession to, or the deprivation of, or the vacancy in, any office of the Undang Yang Empat and Tengku Besar Tampin referred to in Article 14. It also advises on any other matter referred to it by Duli Yang Maha Mulia (His Royal Highness) or by any of the Undang Yang Empat and Tengku Besar Tampin, and performs such duties as may be conferred on it by this Constitution or any written law.
AND WHEREAS the Special Sitting of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang Negeri Sembilan advised to accept that the Telaga Undang (the electoral body of the Luak) of Luak Sungai Ujong had made a decision on the removal of YANG TERAMAT MULIA DATO’ KLANA PETRA, 10th UNDANG OF LUAK SUNGAI UJONG, in accordance with customary law and the prescribed procedure, and took cognisance of the said dismissal decision in accordance with the provisions of the Undang-Undang Adat Sungei Ujong (Customary Law of Sungei Ujong).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT KNOWN that it is hereby proclaimed that DATO’ MUBARAK BIN THAHAK @ DOHAK has been removed from the office and title of 10th UNDANG OF LUAK SUNGAI UJONG by the Telaga Undang, with effect from MONDAY, 13 MAY 2025.
AND HEREBY all and every officer and subject in Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, and all others concerned, shall take notice and cognisance of this matter.

N.S. P.U. 21. Proclamation: Removal of the Undang of Luak Jelebu
WHEREAS Article 16(1) [recital identical to N.S. P.U. 20].
AND WHEREAS the waris (heirs of the ruling lineage), anak buah (clan members), buapak (clan headmen) and Ibu-ibu soko (lineage matriarchs) of the waris berundang (lineages eligible to the Undangship) of Luak Jelebu have made a decision on the removal of YANG TERAMAT MULIA DATO’ MENDIKA MENTERI AKHIRULZAMAN, 16th, in accordance with customary law and the prescribed procedure, and took cognisance that the said removal decision satisfies the requirement of kebulatan muafakat (unanimous consensus) under the custom of Luak Jelebu.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT KNOWN that it is hereby proclaimed that DATO’ HAJI MAAROF BIN MAT RASHAD is removed from the office and title of 16th UNDANG OF LUAK JELEBU with effect from WEDNESDAY, 31 MAY 2023.
AND HEREBY all and every officer and subject in Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, and all others concerned, shall take notice and cognisance of this matter.

N.S. P.U. 22. Proclamation: Removal of the Dato’ Shahbandar Sungai Ujong
WHEREAS Article 15(1), First Part, of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959 provides that the Dato’ Shahbandar Sungai Ujong shall be a person duly elected as tunggak (head) of the Waris di-Ayer according to the Adat of Luak Sungai Ujong. Article 15(2) further provides that, without prejudice to the customs, powers and prerogatives of the Dato’ Klana as Undang, and subject to the provisions of this Constitution, there shall be consultation between him and the Dato’ Shahbandar in all matters concerning the affairs of Luak Sungai Ujong.
AND WHEREAS it has been decided by kebulatan muafakat (unanimous consensus) of the anak-anak waris (heirs) and Ibu Soko (lineage matriarchs) of the WARIS DI-AYER, regarding the removal of YANG AMAT MULIA DATO’ SHAHBANDAR SUNGAI UJONG, in accordance with customary law and the prescribed procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT KNOWN that it is hereby proclaimed that DATO’ SERI UTAMA HAJI BADARUDIN BIN HAJI ABDUL KHALID has been stripped of his pesaka (inherited customary title), his customary authority has lapsed, and the office of DATO’ SHAHBANDAR SUNGAI UJONG is vacated with effect from THURSDAY, 30 JULY 2026.
AND HEREBY all and every officer and subject in Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, and all others concerned, shall take notice and cognisance of this matter.

N.S. P.U. 23. Proclamation: Installation of the Undang of Luak Sungai Ujong, Negeri Sembilan
WHEREAS it is provided by Article 14(1) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959 that the Undang of Luak Sungai Ujong, the Undang of Luak Jelebu, the Undang of Luak Johol and the Undang of Luak Rembau shall be duly elected according to the custom of their respective Luak.
AND WHEREAS YANG TERAMAT MULIA DATO’ KLANA PETRA DATO’ MUHAMMAD FARIS BIN JOHARI (DTNS) is proclaimed and declared Undang of Luak Sungai Ujong, Negeri Sembilan, as appointed by the anak waris (heirs) in Luak Sungai Ujong, Negeri Sembilan.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DATO’ MUHAMMAD FARIS BIN JOHARI, hereby declare that I have been appointed to hold the office of DATO’ KLANA PETRA, 11th UNDANG OF LUAK SUNGAI UJONG NEGERI SEMBILAN. I took the oath and pledge on SATURDAY, 27 JUNE 2026, and was acknowledged (diperakukan) in the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang Negeri Sembilan on FRIDAY, 31 JULY 2026, in the manner and procedure provided in Article 16(1) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959. That Article concerns the power of the Dewan to advise on questions relating to Malay custom in any place in the State, including questions relating to the election or succession to, or the deprivation of, or the vacancy in, any office of the Undang Yang Empat and Tengku Besar Tampin referred to in Article 14.
Proclaimed at ISTANA BESAR SERI MENANTI, NEGERI SEMBILAN.

N.S. P.U. 24. Proclamation: Installation of the Undang of Luak Rembau, Negeri Sembilan
WHEREAS Article 14(1) [recital identical to N.S. P.U. 23].
AND WHEREAS YANG TERAMAT MULIA DATO’ SEDIA RAJA DATO’ HAJI HASSAN BIN AB. HAMID (DTNS) is proclaimed and declared Undang of Luak Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, as appointed by the anak waris (heirs) in Luak Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DATO’ HAJI HASSAN BIN AB. HAMID, hereby declare that I have been appointed to hold the office of DATO’ SEDIA RAJA, 22nd UNDANG OF LUAK REMBAU NEGERI SEMBILAN. I took the oath and pledge on SATURDAY, 27 JUNE 2026, and was acknowledged (diperakukan) in the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang Negeri Sembilan on FRIDAY, 31 JULY 2026, in the manner and procedure provided in Article 16(1) [remainder identical to N.S. P.U. 23].
