Revocation of the appointment of Members of the State Executive Council, Negeri Sembilan
The Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus has revoked the appointment of the Members of the State Executive Council, Negeri Sembilan, with immediate effect, for breaching their oath of office.
Under Article 38(5) of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959, a Member of the State Executive Council, Negeri Sembilan holds office during the pleasure of the Duli Yang Maha Mulia.
The Members concerned each took the oath and signed the pledge of loyalty to the Duli Yang Maha Mulia on 7 August 2026 before being appointed to the Council.
They pledged loyalty to the Duli Yang Maha Mulia and to the Royal Institution, swore to protect and preserve the sovereignty of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan, and to recognise the authority vested in the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) of Negeri Sembilan.
They breached this oath through their actions and statements on 15 September.
Accordingly, the Duli Yang Maha Mulia has withdrawn His Royal Highness’s pleasure and revoked their appointments as Members of the State Executive Council, Negeri Sembilan, with immediate effect. Each individual concerned has been informed of the revocation by royal letter.
In connection with this, the Menteri Besar is to submit a new list of candidates for Members of the State Executive Council, Negeri Sembilan for the consideration and pleasure of the Duli Yang Maha Mulia under Article 38(2) of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959.
The Duli Yang Maha Mulia expects the Menteri Besar to ensure that the administration of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus continues without any disruption or obstruction in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959, and that the interests of the rakyat remain safeguarded.
