Mubarak Ordered to Vacate Official Residence and the Balai Immediately
Given these developments, there is only one conclusion: Mubarak has no authority. He has no validity. He is no longer an Undang.
On 30 April 2026, the Negeri Sembilan state government formally directed the previous Undang of Luak Sungei Ujong, Datuk Mubarak Dohak, to vacate the official residence and Balai Undang Luak Sungei Ujong at Ampangan, Seremban, with immediate effect.
The eviction order was issued by letter from the Negeri Sembilan State Secretary’s Office to Mubarak’s private secretary.
What the letter says
The letter, dated 29 April 2026 and signed by a divisional secretary from the Management Services Division, cited the decision of the special sitting of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) on 17 April as the basis for the order.
“You are instructed to vacate the official residence and Balai Undang Luak Sungei Ujong with immediate effect. All state government assets registered at the premises must be kept in good condition for future inspection,” the letter states.
On-the-ground checks by Utusan Malaysia and FMT at the time of reporting showed no visible movement from the balai. The removed ex-Undang is understood to still be residing at the premises. Staff seconded to the Balai have reportedly been reassigned.
Precedent exists
The DKU has acknowledged the removal of a sitting Undang before.
Aminuddin noted in his 20 April statement that the same process was applied when the 14th Undang Luak Johol, Datuk Mohammad Jan Abdul Ghani, was dismissed on 27 March 2016 for 13 offences related to the customs and traditions of Luak Johol. That removal was not successfully challenged.
Under Article 16(3) of the Negeri Sembilan Constitution 1959, DKU acknowledgements are final and not subject to challenge in any court.
What this means
The constitutional position is not ambiguous. Mubarak Dohak has not been an Undang since 13 May 2025. His removal was affirmed by the Luak Sungei Ujong itself, from the Telaga Undang and the Waris Klana Hulu, the customary heirs of his own luak. The DKU acknowledged the decision on 17 April 2026.
On 19 April, the Telaga Undang said he had no authority. On 29 April, she said he could not use the Balai. On 30 April, the Negeri Sembilan state government told him to vacate.
Given these developments, there is only one conclusion: Mubarak has no authority. He has no validity. He is no longer an Undang.
